Fuad bin Taha Al-Fateh
plastic artist and sculptor,
Born in 1948 in the city of Taiz

Qualifications:

  • He studied general education in the city of Taiz, then English literature at Cairo University.
  • He studied economics and political science at the University of Baghdad.
  • Studied fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Germany
  • Fouad Al-Fateh was appointed director of fine arts at the Ministry of Information and Culture in 1980, then founding director of the National Center for the Arts in Sanaa.

Fouad Al-Fateh held his first plastic exhibition abroad during his studies in Germany in 1973
Established the first art gallery in the city of Sana’a in 1986

  • He participated in many international exhibitions in: Baghdad, Berlin, San Francisco, New York, Norway, Jordan, Muscat, and Oman.

  • Sculpture of strength and peace in front of Sanaa airport of white stone
  • Alphabetical carvings of the capitals of the Arab world
  • He has artworks acquired in a number of Arab and foreign countries

  • First Class Medal for Letters and Arts
  • Medal from the Alexandria Museum.
  • Shield of the Arab Pioneers Festival from the League of Arab States
  • Honored as a guest of honor at the Egypt International Graphic Exhibition

The artist, Fouad Al-Fateh, passed away on Wednesday (February 28, 2018).
